DEAP DESIGN

DEAP DESIGN

NEW vs old

As a brand with decades of history behind it, when designing a new shower control unit for Kohler, it is best to look back on what was successful about their classic designs and update them for modern tastes.

ORGANIC MODELING

Many of the concept forms created at Deap were organic, requiring complex 3D modeling in SolidWorks to achieve a more natural look while still being manufacturable.

Drying rack v1

Originally a simple drying rack concept, my addition of a simple swinging arm allows for optimized and secure drying of wine glasses.

Drying rack v2

Redesigned based on feedback from Kohler to simplify the form of the first drying rack concept, while keeping the unique wine glass element.

BASIN

A simple sink basin with a unique pattern wrapped subtlety around the form.

THE FOREST SINK

The Forest Sink concept takes direct inspiration from natural elements of the American north: majestic trees with weathered bark, babbling brooks, cascading waterfalls... a meeting of the rough and smooth sides of the forest.

LEAF

The form of the Leaf sink is driven by its intended location: outside. Leaf would reside near greenhouses, garden hoses, sheds, and back entrances to homes where a quick cleaning is needed.

DIP

A 3D form study, updating an existing Kohler sink with newer, more minimal piping assembly.
